#Change default email app windows install
Problem : In Windows 8, there was an option in Mail app (which came with Windows 8) that allowed me to set a new program as default but now I upgraded my PC’s OS to Windows 10 and couldn’t find such option in Mail app anymore… so how do I get my desired default e-mail client – Mozilla Thunderbird – to be default e-mail app on my Windows 10 PC? I am not using account because it is making my taskbar look ugly and cluttered with useless tiles and if there are no at least a way to change the default mail client from Microsoft’s (unwanted) Mail app, then I’d rather install another operating system on my computer! If you have Professional or Enterprise edition then you’ll need to go back to “Settings/Accounts” in order to remove the unwanted account from PC. Note : This method only works for Windows 10 Home version. If yes then re-add mail icon from taskbar and re-assign it to MS Outlook. Now restart PC and check if there are any tiles left in taskbar notification area. Solution: You will need to remove the folder C:\Users\(your user name)\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.WindowsCalculator_8wekyb3d8bbweįrom your PC. So please tell me how I can get rid of this unwanted app so that my Taskbar remains clean and neat? Thank you! (I have never used an Outlook account before and do not particularly care for using MS’s services.)

When I clicked on “Forget account” in Mail, that has no effect either. For example: in Task Manager, if you right-click on something like Internet Explorer or Mail then you get an option to delete the program associated with it… but there’s no such option available when you right-click on the tile. The problem is that there is no obvious way (that I can find) to remove this unwanted tile app from my machine.
#Change default email app windows full
It was running fine, but now the taskbar is full of tiles that are for and I did not sign up for this service - I do not want this account, which is why I never signed up for the first place. Problem: My desktop computer came with Windows 8.0 and I upgraded it to 10 immediately after upgrading my laptop to 10 about a months ago.
